The Comet was an automobile built by Ford Motor Company through its Division Mercury, located in Dearborn, Michigan, USA. Manufacture started in 1960 and during the first two years of production the car was marketed simply as a Comet, becoming a Mercury as of 1963. The brand was discontinued in 1977.
