The American car company Ford created the Continental car make in the mid 1950’s as a luxury car division whose main goal was to rival with the most sophisticated cars at that time, namely the Rolls-Royce’s. Continental cars were only produced in 1956 and 1957, due to their unsuccessful sales. Ford eliminated the Continental cars and company.
