Costin was founded by Frank Costin (co-founder of Marcos), famous designer and pioneer of the monocoque chassis. Frank Costin designed lightweight sports cars that became quite successful in competition. Costin Amigo was built in the UK at Little Staughton, Bedfordshire in the 1970’s. TCM Costin was constructed at Thompson Motor Company in Wexford, Ireland. After bankruptcy of TCM in 1987, Frank Costin designed the Costin Sports Roadster at Costin Ltd., in The Wales, but he was unable to get funding for the manufacture of the prototype, completed in 1991. Joe Tavani, a Specialist Automotive from West Sussex, and great admirer of Frank Costin, is now trying to bring the Costin roadster to life.
