Dodge unveiled the Charger SRT Hellcat in 2014, the fastest and most powerful sedan in the world at the time of its launch.
The Charger SRT Hellcat is equipped with the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. The 707hp performance sedan equals the power of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. The engine with 881Nm of torque is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission TorqueFlite 8HP90.
According to Dodge it reaches the quarter mile in 11 seconds and 160km/h (100mph) in less than 13 seconds and a top speed of 328km/h (204mph).
The Charger SRT Hellcat is equipped with the largest front brake package offered by the Chrysler Group, originally introduced in the Challenger SRT Hellcat. The vehicle receives 390mm dual-unit rotor Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers.
Whether they're on the road or on the track, owners of the Charger SRT Hellcat can customize their driving experience, through the Drive Modes technology. The five different driving modes allow to manage the driving experience through the power control, the speed of change of the transmission, the paddle shifters, traction and suspension. The Sport, Track and Default modes are pre-configured, while the Custom mode allows the driver to customize the vehicle according to its preferences. Eco mode allows a more efficient driving.
Design
The design of the Dodge Charger is inspired by the second generation of the model from the 60's. The 2015 model is specifically inspired by the 1969 model.
In the front the Charger SRT Hellcat gets the aluminium bonnet with "cold-air" inlets and two air extractors. The front, including the grille, has been redesigned to include upper and lower dark textures to give the vehicle a more aggressive look.
The integrated front splitter enhances air circulation for the cooling modules without compromising the vehicle's balance. At the rear the spoiler was painted in body color and the vehicle includes 4-inches round-shaped exhaust outlets.
The interior of the Charger SRT Hellcat was redesigned to focus on the driver. The vehicle includes premium soft-touch materials, a new digital instrument panel of seven inches and a new center instrument panel equipped with a Uconnect touch screen of 8.4 inches.
Electronic shifter with a driver-oriented T-handle provides the driver with intuitive gear selection and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control. A heated steering wheel was also redesigned for the new Hellcat and has been equipped with paddle shifters. The new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat still gets redesigned with more cushioning and more comfortable contoured seats. For greater comfort and convenience, the SRT Hellcat includes high performance heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats.
