Austro-V was an association of 2 companies with the goal of building a Formula V : Mahag (Munich) and Porsche Konstruktionen (Salzburg).
One of its distinguishing features was a well finished and strong tubular chassis usually seen only on higher level cars.
Formula V (or Vee) was a popular open wheel, single seater junior motor racing formula, with relatively low costs. The Austro's dominated the International scene during the second half of the 1966 season.
