, whose production ended in the summer of 2015. The 488 GTB488 GTBFerrari 488 GTBItaly, 2015 > present is an evolution of the popular model of the Italian brand and brings for the first time the turbo technology to a modern mid-engined V8 Ferrari supercar.

After the California TCalifornia TFerrari California TItaly, 2014 > present, the 488 GTB is the second model to use turbo technology, but Ferrari says the new supercar engine is completely new. The production starts in September, after the last 458 Italia leaves the assembly line.

The new Ferrari 3.9-liter V8 engine that powers the 488 GTB has a 670hp output and 760Nm of torque, which represents a significant increase in power compared to the 458 Italia and the 458 Speciale458 SpecialeFerrari 458 SpecialeItaly, 2014 > present.

Combined with an updated automatic dual-clutch seven-speed transmission, the 488 GTB reaches 100km/h in 3.0 seconds, the 200 km/h mark in 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 330km/h. Ferrari indicates that the new model will have an average consumption of 11,4l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 260g/km. The 488 GTB has gone out to the Fiorano track and completed a lap in 1 minute and 23 seconds, which is two seconds faster than the 458 Italia and a half second faster than the 458 Speciale.

The engine is responsible for the element "488" in the name of the new model because each cylinder has approximately 488cc. The GTB suffix is already famous in Ferrari's model names and means Gran Turismo Berlinetta.

Ferrari says that it incorporated in the 488 GTB knowledge acquired in the XX program in order to allow all drivers to enjoy the most of electronic and vehicle control systems. The Italian brand adds that the car has comparable responses with a track car.

With 4568mm long, 1952mm wide and 1213mm high, the 488 GTB has dimensions very similar to the 458 Italia. The new model has a weight of 1370kg when equipped with lightweight options.
