599 GTB Fiorano
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano was released in 2006, replacing the 575 M Maranello. The model is a combination of different things: its engine displacement, 5999cc, the body-type, gran turismo (GT), and the racing circuit Fiorano that Ferrari uses to tests its cars. 599 GTB Fiorano is Ferrari’s two-seat flagship model. Ferrari also launched a track only version of this model, the 599XX, with 720hp and 9000 rpm.
599XX
The Ferrari 599XX premiered at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show. The model is based on the Ferrari 599 GTB and a pure racing car. Its engine delivers 730 PS (540 kW; 720 hp) at 9000 rpm.
The Italian engineers paid special attention to reducing the weight by use of lighter engine components and composite and carbon-fiber elements. The aerodynamics of the 599XX produce a downforce of 280 kg at 200 km/h, 630 kg at 300 km/h.
In 2011 Ferrari unveiled an evolution of the racecar, the 599XX Evo.
