about:

Maserati’s sports car Ghibli debuted in 1966 at the Turin Salon and is named after an European wind, similarly to other Maserati models. A Ghibli Spyder variant was launched as well, giving customers two choices on body shape.

Giorgetto Giugiaro, chief designer at the design studio Ghia by that time, was the man that created the two-door coupé, intending to satisfy the customers’ demands for a faster and more powerful automobile. This low height car – at 45 inches from the floor – was released in two separate generations: the Ghibli I from 1966 to 1973 and series II from 1992 to 1997.
