Gymkhana 5 Teaser: Do We Still Care?
DC Shoes has released for Gymkhana 5 starring Ken Block.
Personally, I feel like Block might be among the most overrated drivers today. He made an attempt at WRC that failed miserably. In his best season, which was last year, he scored 6 points in the WRC. To be fair he has scored 4 points this season, and there are six rounds left. Still, Block drives in these fantastic videos, but when it comes to competition, he is hardly world class.
My other issue is the Gymkhana videos themselves. They remind me a little of Star Wars. The first one came out and shocked the world. The general public had never really seen anything like it. The second one was even better. Then the third one came out, and it was still cool but losing it a little. Then the last one at Universal Studios was generally awful. It was the Phantom Menace of Gymkhana videos. Now, we have this brief teaser for the fifth Gymkhana showing block drifting around a barge.
I will watch it, when it is released. It is free and just costs a little time, but I think the charm of Gymkhana has worn away.
