Honda launched the second S2000 model in 2004 after the car underwent some styling and mechanical adjustments.
Aesthetic changes are quite vaguely noticeable, mostly done on the front and rear bumpers, the lights assemblies and the exhaust shape.
Mechanically, the S2000 now comes with a new engine displacement and allegedly performs better.
In 2008, Honda began offering more than one trim level of the S2000 for the first time. Alongside with the standard version, there is now a race-inspired and lighter model, known as the S2000 CR.

Power output and top speed for the S2000 II remain at the average 240 hp and 150 mi/h (241 km/h) respectively.
It also remains as a rear-wheel drive car with a 6-speed manual transmission, the way its previous generation was.
