About

Replacing the old 9/28 in 1932, Humber's new Twelve came with Bendix brakes and a four-speed gearbox. Body styles included a saloon, with a two-door Vogue saloon, a Sports tourer and a drophead coupe being introduced for 1933. For 1934 there was a free wheel option.

Much in the way of modernising went into Humber's "new" Twelve model of 1935. Based on the same X-braced frame as the previous Twelve, the '35 models featured a forward-mounted engine behind an up-to-date vee-grille, and an integral luggage boot containing the spare wheel - Humber called it "Controlled Streamlining".

Under the bonnet was the same 1669cc three-bearing 4-cylinder side-valve engine, backed by the same all-synchromesh gearbox used in the smaller Minx models. However, with such a small power unit (42bhp) in such a heavy car, performance was, it could politely be said, "adequate".

The painted radiator shell was introduced in 1936. The saloon, and a drophead coupe model were the only body styles offered after 1934.
