AJS was a car and motorcycle manufacturer established at Wolverhampton, England. The AJS letters actually stand for “A. J. Stevens” because the British company’s official name was “A. J. Stevens & Co. Ltd”.
AJS produced motor vehicles between 1909 and 1931, being better recognized for its motorcycles than its few cars. Other motorcycle producers used the AJS name on their products after the AJS company was sold and its car production discontinued.
