The I-oniq is an electric sports hatchback with a range extending petrol engine.

The styling is meant to take Hyundai's fluidic sculpture design language to new heights. The front is sharp, yet blunt, with a flat, low grill. The A-pillars seem to swoop up over the body and come down to a flat hatch. It is difficult to see in the pictures, but Hyundai describes the I-oniq as having a "penthouse roof." The car is 4.4m long and has room for four occupants.

The I-oniq includes high tech elements like LED headlights and an advanced driver interface that Hyundai is now showing yet.

The I-oniq's range-extended, hybrid powertrain produces 109ps. It is based around a 1.0 liter, three-cylinder engine that acts as a generator on an electric motor. The electric range of the car is claimed 120km while the generator adds 580km to the range - for a total range of 700km. Hyundai claims just 45g/km of CO2 emissions from the powertrain.
