Iveco was created in 1975 by FiatFiatFiatItaly, 1899 > present159 models

manager and mechanical engineer Bruno Beccaria through the merger of five companies. These five companies from Italy, France and Germany were Fiat Veicoli Industriali, Officine Meccaniche, Lancia Veicoli Speciali, Unic and Magirus.

In 1990 Iveco acquired 60% of a spanish based truck manufacturer, ENASA, also maker of Pegaso, a brand of commercial vehicles. This helped Iveco to become an important brand in european markets and led to the expansion of factory plants to Barcelona, Valladolid and Madrid.

In the beginning of the 1990's Iveco had to overcome a crisis and further expanded the company to Australia and South America. Iveco's commercial vehicles were very successful, they were sold in over ninety countries and in 2000 the Iveco DailyDailyIveco DailyItaly, 1978 > present4 series
