Jaguar revealed the XKR-S GT at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The sports car will be limited to 30 cars for North America which makes it the rarest production Jaguar in the last 25 years.
The XKR-S GT is meant to be a track-focused version of the XKR-S. Power comes from the same 543hp supercharged 5.0-liter V8 from the standard XKR-S, but the GT gets a performance body kit, wider wheels, larger brakes and adjustable suspension.
The major changes over the XKR-S include a carbon fiber body kit with a front splitter, dive planes, wider wheelarches, a larger rear wing and rear diffuser. The front valance is made from aluminum. All of the body changes produce a total of 145kg (320lbs) of downforce. The hood gets louvers to improve cooling. It rides on widened, 20in wheels.
The suspension is also revised with height-adjustable, adaptive dampers with two springs per corner and a 52mm wider track. It increases spring rates by 68% in the front and 25% in the rear. It also gets the faster steering rack from the F-type.
The only available transmission will be a six-speed paddle-shift transmission with an electronic rear differential. It will get to 60mph in 3.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the XKR-S. The top speed is electronically limited to 300km/h (186mph).
The carbon-ceramic brakes get major changes with 398mm front brake discs with six-piston calipers and 380mm rear discs with four-piston calipers with a pre-sense system that pre-pressurizes the brake system to decrease stopping distance.
The XKR-S GT will only be available in Polaris White with a charcoal interior with red accents. It gets 16-way adjustable seats with fake suede covering the seats, headliner and steering wheel.
