Lamborghini launched the Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario at the Shanghai Motor Show to celebrate its 50th birthday. The power was increased 20hp over the standard Aventador. The edition is limited to 100 units and each come with a special serial number.
Power for the 50 Anniversario comes from the same 6.5-liter V12 from that standard car but with new engine calibration to add the extra 20hp. Like the standard Aventador, it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Acceleration to 100km/h takes 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 350km/h.
The Anniversario gets an enlarged and extended front splitter and air intakes with small flaps on either side. The rear gets an even larger diffuser and more engine ventilation. Lamborghini estimates that the changes improved aero efficiency by 50%.
The cars are available with an exclusive color called Giallo Maggio (May yellow) that references the company's founding in May 1963. The paint is yellow with a transparent layer on top and a glitter layer on top of that. Most of the trim is painted matte black. The wheels are painted high gloss black.
The interior is covered in either a combination of black and brown leather or black and yellow leather. Either color comes with diamond stitching on the seats.
