Mitsubishi Lancer (Japan, 1973-1979)

Mitsubishi set off the production of the very first Lancer cars in 1973, mainly as a way of filling the space of small and medium-small cars in the Japanese car market. In the United States, this car was sold as the Dodge Colt from 1977.

Overall, there were 12 different versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer available, each one with a different engine displacement. The rallying version that was made out from the 1st generation Lancer actually turned out to be very successful on the rally tracks.
