To celebrate 40 years of the Range Rover model Land Rover launched the Autobiography Black 40th Anniversary Limited Edition.
The limited edition has a finish in Barolo Black and features 20-inch alloy wheels, Diamond Turned, a front grille with Titan grille mesh, a bright chrome grille ‘U’ edge and black grille surround. Besides the tailgate badge, 'Autobiography Black' the special edition features side vents with a new mesh set off by bright chrome bars, a black vent surround and body coloured door handles.
With a production of around 700 units Land Rover ensured that the Black 40th Anniversary Limited Edition is the most special Range Rover within its 40 years of history.
With the 2011 Range Rover, Land Rover also features for the first time its all-new LR-TDV8 4.4-litre with parallel sequential turbocharging, which replaces the LR-TDV8 3.6-litre. This powertrain combines superior power and torque and delivers lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions than its predecessor. The LR-TDV8 4.4-litre is the first land Rover to reach the 30 mpg of combined cycle fuel consumption with 30.1 mpg (9.4 l/100km).
Although the new engine delivers an output of 313 PS and 700 Nm of torque the CO2 emissions have still been reduced by 14 percent. This has also been possible thanks to the the new, electronically controlled, ZF 8HP70, 8-speed automatic gearbox that has been mattred with the LR-TDV8 4.4-li unit. This combination enables the 2011 Range Rover to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.
