Built since 1989 the Lexus ES is a family of mid-size luxury sedans sold by Toyota's luxury brand Lexus. The ES has been consistently been built based on the Toyta Camry's platform and fitted with a V6 engine, automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive.

The Lexus ES was the entry-level luxury car segment of the Lexus lineup in North America for most of its existence, until the introduction of the Lexus IS sport luxury sedans in 2001. Until 1999, with the introduction of the RX300 it was Lexus' only front-wheel drive vehicle.

For the fifth generation the ES model was built under Lexus' own L-finesse body styling.
