The Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV sold since 1998 over three generations. The model was the first SUV in Lincoln's line-up and the first Lincoln to offer four-wheel drive. The Navigator competes with models such as the Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Denali Series. It offers seating for seven to eight people and with the 5.4 L Modular V8 comes with only one engine choice.

In 2007 the latest generation was launched and an extended wheelbase version was added to the range, the Navigator L. The 2007 model features updates in terms of design and mechanics. The new Ford T1 platform brought about improvements in rigidity and driving dynamics. Since 2009 the 5.4 L V8 engine offers flex-fuel capability.
