The American Motor Corporations results from the biggest corporate merge at that time in the United States history. In 1954, Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and Hudson Motor Car Company joined to form the AMC. After an alliance with Renault in the 1970s, the AMC was bought by the Chrysler Corporation in 1987.
