Studebaker Brother's Manufacturing Company was founded by Henry Studebaker in South Bend, Indiana, USA, in 1868 to produced wagons. In the early 1900’s the Company started producing engines and in 1910 it bought the assets of Everett-Metzger-Flanders (EMF) car builder of Detroit. In 1911 the company reorganized as the Studebaker Corporation and in 1912 Studebaker launched the first car with its own brand. In 1954 Studebaker merged with Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit and the new company was the Studebaker-Packard Corporation Production in the USA ceased in 1963 and in the company’s plant in Canada in 1966. The company focused on its more profitable businesses. Studebakers were known for their high quality and extreme reliability.
