that raced in the Can-Am racing series in the US in the 60s and 70s. The problem is the GT3 Can-Am no longer meets FIA GT3 rules and is not legal to race in the class. McLaren means the car to be the ultimate expression of a racing MP4-12C. It has more downforce and more horsepower than any previous version.
The Can-Am Edition uses the same twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 as the rest of the MP4-12C line, but power has been boosted to 630hp, 13hp more than the current road car
