Mercedes-Benz unveils a new C-Class Coupé in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show. For the first time in 125 years is the brand offering a compact, classic coupé.

In terms of design the C-Class has some of the typical coupé features, including the short front overhang, long bonnet, steeply raked windscreen and long, stretched out roof. The coupé keeps some cues from the C-Class, for example the wedge-shaped, sloping beltline, while the strong C-pillar is an entirely distinctive element. Its position gives the C-Class Coupé a sportier look.

Sharing the same front styling as the latest C-Class, the coupe version still has its own touch. With the front being dominated by the radiator grille, the centre air intake opens upwards, forming a visual base unit for the radiator grille which has the double-louvre style typical of a coupé.

The new model makes use of the technology of the recently launched new generation of the C-Class.
Customers can choose from a lineup of three petrol engines and two diesel powerplants. All of them feature direct injection and the ECO start/stop function as standard and be classed as BlueEFFICIENCY units. The C 220 CDI and C 250 CDI diesel variants and the basic C 180 petrol engine come with a six-speed manual transmission.
