At the 2010 Auto China Motor Show Mercedes-Benz presented the brand’s latest concept: the Shooting Break. The four-door coupe concept continued the work already started with the Fascination concept presented in September 2008.

Clearly referring the CLS design, the Shooting Break is a wide and flat vehicle with a long bonnet and a roof which continues through to the rear. Although the front has been completely designed for this concept it certainly has some reminiscent features of the SLS AMG, such as the radiator grille, with the large star and bionic slats. Dynamism has been given to its profile by the beltline that goes towards the rear and the character line enhanced by the rear wheel arches. The coupé style is provided by the low window design.

The powertrain of the next V-engine generation from Mercedes-Benz powered the Shooting Break concept. The V6 engine with a 3.5-litres and direct injection featured a control system which enables lean-burn operation. With an output of 306 hp and maximum torque of 370 Nm the Shooting Break follows the BlueEFFICENCY philosophy of the German brand.
