The Mercury Mariner is a 4-door compact crossover SUV launched in 2005. The vehicle has a front engine, front- or four-wheel drive layout. The Mariner is closely related to the Mazda Tribute and Ford Escape however marketed in a slightly higher vehicle class. In Mercury's line-up, the Mariner is placed below the Mountaineer.
