The Morgan Aero 8 is a 2-seat sports car that was launched in 2001 and is still currently in active assembly at Morgan’s Malvern Link factory.
In line with Morgan’s long-established tradition, the Aero 8 goes on to join traditional styling and structure with high-performance standards and the most up-to-date equipment. The Aero 8 has a very special meaning since it is Morgan’s first new model since 1948.
topMorgan introduced the Aero 8 in Europe in 2001 and two years later this sports car was also introduced in the United States at that year’s LA Auto Show. After more than 90 years over its inception on sports car manufacturing, Morgan had never spent so much time in any other project like they did with the Aero 8’s development.
The Morgan Aero 8 represents the combination of traditional design style with contemporary and sophisticated technology. Around 14 copies of this model are built each week at Morgan’s Malvern Link manufacturing plant.
topThe Aero 8 units produced until 2008 have 4.4-liter BMW V8 engines, which are set in a front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout. These cars output 325 hp and accelerate to 60 mi/h (97 km/h) in 4.5 seconds and up to a maximum of 160 mi/h (258 km/h). Pre-2008 models also have a 6-speed Getrag transmission.
From 2008 on, the Morgan Aero 8 receives power from a 4.8-liter BMW engine with 367 hp, which allows the car to reach 170 mi/h (274 km/h). Post-2008 models can be acquired with an optional 6-speed automatic transmission.

topThe Morgan Aero 8 is a 2-door, 2-seat convertible sports car that was styled by successful racing driver Chris Lawrence’s design team. The 1962 Le Mans champion conceived the Aero 8 with the goal of pulling off a sports car with race-worthy material, high quality and sophisticated standards.
topThe Aero 8 has entered the 2002 and 2004 seasons of the 24-hour Le Mans race, as well as several FIA GT seasons with both the factory and private drivers.
Morgan has also competed with Aero 8 cars at the British GT and currently races them at the FIA GT3 European Championship.
