Produced between 2002 and 2010, the Honda Element was a compact crossover SUV based on a modified CR-V platform.

The Element was the evolution of the concept Model X, which was shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Model X was designed to combine some features of a pickup truck and a sport utility vehicle.

Honda announced that it would cease production of the Element by the end of model year 2011. The reasons for the decision were the declining sales of the Element compared to other Honda SUVs
