Sonata is a mid-size car launched in 1985. The model was first introduced exclusively on the Korean market and it was progressively sold across the globe. The second generation, released in 1998, reached the United States of America, and its third series arrived in the United Kingdom when it debuted in 1995. Currently Sonata is in its sixth generation. An hybrid version of the 4-door sedan was released in 2011.
