With its name standing for four wheels and four cylinders, the Morgan 4/4 was the first car from Morgan Motor Company to be built with four wheels. First appearing in 1936, the 4/4 has been  in continuous production from its debut right up to the present day, except during World War II and the period between March 1951 and September 1955.

Since its launch the engine capacity of the 2-door roadster has increased from the 1122cc Coventry Climax engine in 1936 to a 1.8 litre Ford engine in 2004
