The British automaker Morgan presented the EvaGT for the first time at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Carmel, California, USA on the 15th August 2010. The four seater Coupe takes its inspiration from the British sports saloons of the early 1950’s.
The EvaGT is powered by a BMW 3 litre straight six mono twin turbo with direct petrol injection with a maximum output of 306 PS and 400nm of torque. Fitted with a 6 speed sport automatic or 6 speed manual gearbox, the Morgan model is able to reach a top speed of 273 km/h and accelerate from 0 up to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. In terms of efficiency, the EvaGT has a combined fuel consumption of 7.06 litres/100km, which represents CO2 emissions of 200 g/km.
Morgan was one of the first car companies to see the advantage of a bonded aluminium chassis to give rigidity but also to save weight, and the EvaGT makes full use of technologies developed to manufacture a lightweight car. It is fitted with a further developed version of the bonded aluminium chassis of the Morgan Aero SuperSports and is compliant with European and US safety approvals.
The Morgan EvaGT body has been sculpted by Morgan Design focusing on natural materials and understanding their unique technical properties. To ensure accuracy the design and manufacture have been conceived using computer technology, with the parts being hand finished.
With a first limited series of 100 cars, the Morgan EvaGT starts being produced in mid 2012.
