It seems like when most auto makers have a new car to reveal they release teaser images that show the new car in extreme closeup or somehow obscured. Apparently, Hyundai is not most auto makers because it fully revealed the exterior of the next generation Santa Fe on its Twitter.
In its tweets, Hyundai said that the design called Storm Edge that is an off-shoot of its Fluidic Sculpture design language. It went on to say that the hexagonal grill and wide fenders create a "futuristic and urban-style look."
The design seems interesting but perhaps a little boring from the profile. The front has a three-bar grill that expands to thicker bars at the end. It has lower fog lights with integrated daytime LEDs, and headlights mounted high on the fenders. The profile features a crease from just behind the front fender through the door pulls to the top of the tail lights. The roof slopes down slightly, but the rear window curves up, which makes the rear look a little more sporty. Hyundai did not show the rear of the new Santa Fe, but it clearly has wrap-around tail lights.
The new Santa Fe is not due to be revealed completely until the New York Motor Show at the beginning of April. Hyundai did not go into any other details about the new SUV.
