Aston Martin Takes the Roof Off the Vanquish for the All Carbon Fiber Volante

to create its first Volante model ever with a fully carbon fiber body. Power for the Vanquish VolanteAston Martin Vanquish Vol...United Kingdom, 2014 > present comes from the same 6.0-liter V12 as the Vanquish coupe with 565hp and 457lb-ft of torque, and Aston Martin estimates that it will take the convertible 4.1 seconds to reach 100km/h. The top speed is 183mph.

Aston’s Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic will be the only transmission available.

“This car is what luxury super GT driving is all about. Great performance, fantastic style and exhilarating Volante motoring in one superb package,” said Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez.

The styling is mostly identical to the coupe. It has the side strakes and rear LED lights from the limited One-77 supercar.

While all of the body panels are carbon fiber, the platform is aluminum with carbon fiber components

The roof is made of several layers of fabric and folds in 14 seconds. It sits under a power tonneau cover at the rear. For the first time in an Aston Martin Volante, the glass in the windshield runs up to the roof, which improves visibility and looks better.

, the truck is 50% larger at 279 liters with either the roof up or down.

Buyers request luxury from Aston Martin, so the interior can be covered in optional quilted leather and come with metal controls and satin chrome trim. It comes with Aston’s latest infotainment system with capacitive glass buttons with haptic feedback.

The Vanquish Volante comes standard with stability control, an electronic differential, three-mode adaptive damping and third-generation Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix.

The Vanquish Volante will cost £199,995 in the UK, €264,995 in Germany, $297,995 in the United States and $323,974 in Dubai. The first deliveries for the UK and Europe are expected in late 2013.
