UK Director, Andre Konsbruck, says that the company is on the verge of offering multiple high-end cars to build the brand’s international image. The new models will be based on the Sport Quattro and NanukNanuk QuattroAudi Nanuk QuattroGermany, 2014 > 2014 concepts.

The news about the Sport Quattro is hardly surprising. Company CEO Rupert Stadler said as much a few weeks ago in an interview with Automotive News.

“The Sport Quattro concept has a great market potential,” said Stadler. “This concept describes in the best way the genetic code of Audi in terms of design, architecture, power, with its V8 twin-turbo engine, and future technologies such as its plug-in hybrid powertrain. It is the essence of what Quattro stands for, and you will find many of its technologies in the upcoming Audi models.”

However, the possibility of the Nanuk going into production is a much bigger surprise. The Nanuk started as the ItaldesignItaldesignItaldesignItaly, 1968 > present25 models

concepts at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Audi took the concept and reworked it for the look of the Nanuk in Frankfurt.

Stadler had far less to say about the Nanuk when he was asked: “We will never stop testing different areas with new product concepts such as the Nanuk.”

Konsbruck says that both cars are being investigated for production.

“Every concept we show has production possibilities, and these cars are no different. I can see a future where we aim to deliver different, innovative premium cars that people aspire to own, such as these. They will be niche, and they will push our price ceiling, but they deliver on the brand image,” he said.

Both the Nanuk and Sport Quattro concepts debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
