Sport Quattro concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show caused a stir because it looked so close to being ready for the street. According to the designer, that was precisely the point.

MQB platform for cars with transverse, front engines with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder. The 2013 Sport Quattro uses the upcoming MLB platform for cars with longitudinal, front engines with a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 attached to a hybrid drive.
Egger says that the thick C-pillar, wider wheel arches and floating front grill of the Sport Quattro will make it to future models, but did not give an opinion on which car, if either, will make it to final production. Both cars were meant to situate between the RS4 and R8 in terms of price and performance.
He did say that Audi is working to simplify its interiors by removing buttons and extraneous functions.
“We wanted to clean up the interior by removing buttons and functions. It is a complete reduction, designed to make it feel lightweight,” he said.
