Embircos is now on display at Bentley's factory in Crewe, UK. Bentley has a showroom at the factory where it can display new and historic vehicles.
The Embircos was purchased by wealthy Greek racecar driver André Embircos who shipped the chassis to France for a body by Pourtout Carrossier. To make a faster car, the body was made from Duralumin, an aluminum alloy.
The car managed a top speed 114.64mph on the Brooklands track. Embircos sold the car to driver H.S.F Hay in 1939 who raced it at the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car finished sixth overall and second in class. It was 14th overall and 7th in class at Le Mans in 1950 and 22nd overall and 7th in class in 1951.
The design was so successful that Bentley brought the Embircos' designer, Georges Paulin, in house to work on a more aerodynamic of its new Mk.V. That car was called the Corniche but had to be canceled due to the outbreak of car. In 1952, Bentley dusted off the concept, updated it and began selling it as the first R Type ContinentalBentley R-Type ContinentalUnited Kingdom, 1952 > present.

and was replaced by the Bentley Mk.V.
“It is an honour for Bentley to exhibit this unique Bentley for the first time, thanks to the generosity of its esteemed owner. Its sleek form was extremely advanced for the time, and its DNA can still be seen in modern Bentley coupes today. We are looking forward to showing the Embiricos to our factory visitors, and to the public at the upcoming Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance," said Richard Charlesworth, Head of the Bentley Heritage Collection.
