The Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition was unveiled at Bentley's new dealer in Beijing

Bentley is introducing a special edition of 60 Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee editions. The first car was presented during the opening of Bentley's newest dealership in Sanlitun, Beijing, China.

To distinguish the car, Bentley has embroidered all the headrests with gold stitching. It also includes veneered picnic tables in the rear cabin with a gold overlay showing a carriage. The cushions in the rear are embroidered with the same theme. The treadplates read ‘Bentley Mulliner, England’ and ‘Diamond Jubilee Edition.' The cars also have paint and leather colors exclusive to the model including specialty shades of white, red and blue, the colors of the Union Flag. It also has exclusive 'B' badges on the D-pillars.

“This series of special cars, hand-built by our Mulliner Division, is our way of reciprocating the appreciation for British institutions, creativity and services we have been shown in China. And as proud holders of a Royal Warrant we also wanted to provide some memorable examples of British technology and craftsmanship,” said Richard Charlesworth, Director of Royal and VIP Relations for Bentley Motors.

Other than the interior  and minor exterior changes, the Diamond Jubilee edition is mechanically identical to the normal Mulsanne.

Bentley also built the state limousine for Queen Elizabeth II that was presented in 2002. Mulliner began building coaches for the Royal Mail in 1760 and began designing bodies for cars in the late 19th century. W.O Bentley commissioned Mulliner to build the body for his first car the EXP1. Mulliner then built the body for the Bentley R Type Continental in 1952. The company was purchased by Rolls-Royce in 1959, and it is now owned by Bentley Motors where it works to design specialty bodies for Bentley.
