Buick will debut a new SUV concept on April 18, the eve of the upcoming 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, called the Envision.
Details remain scarce at this point, with only the one teaser image released by the manufacturer. However we do know that the car was designed principally for the Chinese market by the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center. It will feature global design combined with traditional Chinese aesthetics. Buick say the concept’s exterior is ‘elegant and smooth’, yet the teaser image suggests the rear of the car will consist of futuristic sharp angles and sinister lines, giving the car an aggressive look.
Powertrain details are also mostly unknown with Buick only stating the vehicle will be “equipped with an advanced plug-in hybrid system and loads of other new technologies, projecting the future of Buick products”.
All should be revealed on April 18.
