. Renault-Nissan bought a controlling stake in AvtoVAZ last year and will increase ownership to 74.5% by mid-2014. It first purchased 25% of AvtoVAZ in 2008. Renault-Nissan executives now control eight of the 15 seats on the AvtoVAZ board of directors.

"The alliance is committed to providing the resources and expertise necessary to transform AvtoVAZ into a world-class car manufacturer," said Ghosn.

Renault-Nissan has already begun using AvtoVAZ’s Russian factories to build its cars, and Nissan will use them even more soon to build its new DatsunDatsunJapan, 1931 > 198636 models
