muscle sedan will start at $44,470, plus a $995 destination fee. It will go on sale in the fourth quarter of the year and will only be sold in the US.

The SS packs Chevrolet's LS3 6.2-liter V8 with 415hp and 415lb-ft of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission. It will accelerate to 60 in about five seconds. Chevrolet has not announced fuel economy yet.

Other performance elements include 14in Brembo brakes with four-piston calipers, 19in wheels that are 8.5in wide in the front and 9in wide in the rear, and an aluminum hood and trunk.

Standard equipment for the car includes xenon headlights with LED running lights, parking assist, touchscreen navigation, Bose stereo, color head-up display, dual-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats with memory, side blind zone alert, lane departure warning and backup camera.

It will be offered in Mystic Green, Silver Ice Metallic, Red Hot 2, Phantom Black Metallic and Heron White. Jet Black is the only available interior color.

The options for the SS include a power sunroof for $900 or full-size spare tire for $500. Everything else on the car comes standard.

“The all-new SS is engineered for performance enthusiasts who’ve been clamoring for a rear-wheel-drive sedan. Adding the SS to the lineup further solidifies Chevrolet’s position as America’s best-selling performance-car brand that also includes the all-new 2014 Corvette StingrayTalisman (modern) Gen.1Renault Talisman (modern) Gen.1France, 2013 > 20152 versions

The car's natural points of competitors will be the new seventh-generation Corvette and Camaro SS, with which the SS shares a platform and engine. The new Corvette with 455hp goes for $52,990 after destination charge, $7,525 more than the SS sedan. Although, the SS can carry four people and has real cargo space.
