Classic Cars From All Over the World Will Descend on Goodwood

Highlights include classics from Mercedes, Porsche, Honda and Toyota

This July will mark the 20th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. To celebrate, it will be bringing back some classics from the previous years of the event and celebrating some major automotive milestones as well.

This year, the Goodwood will include a celebration of 90 years of Le Mans and include cars from the beginning like some of the early Bentleys to modern cars like the Toyota TS030TS030 HYBRIDToyota TS030 HYBRIDJapan, 2012 > present5 photos

Renault RS01

Renault is bringing the RS01, the first turbocharged F1 car.

Alpine A442B

The Alpine A442B scored Alpine's only overall victory at Le Mans in 1978. It is bringing the car to promote the return of the brand.

Renault Type K

The 1902 Renault Type K won the Paris-to-Vienna race with a four-cylinder engine that produced 40hp

Porsche 911 GT1

Porsche is bringing many cars to Goodwood to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911. Included in the cars will be a 911 GT1.

1984 Paris Dakar 911

A Porsche 911 won the Paris Dakar in 1984. It was equipped with all-wheel drive and paved the way for the 959 that also raced at Dakar.

1965 Porsche 911 Project 50

Porsche Motorsport Great Britain has created the Project 50 racer that is a race-modified 1965 911. It will be racing in classic races around Europe this summer.

Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible

Bentley will be racing the Continental GT Speed Convertible up the hill at Goodwood.

Bentley Speed 8

Bentley is bringing two of the 2003 Speed 8 prototypes. They will be driven by Derek Bell and Guy Smith.

Toyota TS030 HYBRID

Toyota will have a huge motorsport presence at Goodwood. It is bringing its three major prototypes and four major rally cars, plus a few more. The TS030 will be among them. 

Toyota GT-One TS020

The Toyota GT-One, also known as the TS020, is the closest that Toyota has come to a Le Mans win so far. It was a beatutiful car for the time and quite fast but could not find a win. 

Toyota TS010

The TS010 was another of Toyota's early prototypes. It managed a second place in the 1992 24 Hours of Le Mans, although that was six laps behind the winning Peugeot.

Toyota Celica GT-Four ST165

Toyota is also bringing its most important rally cars including the ST165 Celica rally car

Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185

The ST165 Celica was replaced by the ST185 Celica All-Trac.

Toyota Celica GT-Four ST205

The final car in the line of Celica rally cars was the GT-Four based on the ST205 chassis. 

Toyota Corolla WRC

The final in the line of Toyota's world rally challengers was the Corolla WRC

Toyota Tacoma 'Pikes Peak' Special

The Pikes Peak Tacoma has been a favorite of the Goodwood Festival of Speed for years. It will, of course, return this year.

Toyota AE86 Corolla

The Midgley Motorsport AE86 is inspired by the looks of Toyota GB's factory-sponsored rally cars from the 80s. The original has been lost, but Midgley Motorsport recreated it. 

Toyota Avensis BTCC

Toyota will also have its Avensis BTCC car at the Goodwood Hill.

Toyota Camry NASCAR Red Bull

Toyota is bringing its Red Bull-liveries Camry to race up the hill.

Jaguar XFR-S

Toyota will give the XFR-S its debut to the British public at Goodwood.

Jaguar Mk. 2

Jaguar will also be racing a factory restored and race prepared Mk. 2 up the hill at Goodwood

Jaguar D-Type Works

The Jaguar D-Type on display will be chassis #1. As the name suggests, it was the first D-Type made and was used as a prototype and development car.

Ford FF1

The Ford FF1 is a street-legal concept that Ford creating using a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine. It has just a single seat and is capable of lapping the Nürburgring in 7:22, faster than many supecars

Ford GT40

There will also be a race exclusively for GT40s during the weekend.

Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package

Lexus will be going up the Goodwood Hill for the first time ever. It will be driving the LFA.

Honda RA272

The RA272 with its 1.5-liter V12 brought Honda its first F1 victory.

Honda RA300

The Honda RA300 won the 1967 Italian Grand Prix with John Surtees behind the wheel. He will drive the car again at Goodwood

Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé

Mercedes will use Goodwood to deliver the first SLS AMG GT sold in the UK. It will also be displaying one of the two 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupes built.

Plymouth Barracuda

This 1965 Barracuda is known as the Hemi Under Glass or simple the Wheelie Car. It showed up to Goodwood in 2001, 2003 and 2007. It has a Chrsyler 426 Hemi installed where the rear seats would usually be. With nearly no weight over the front wheels, it can not help but lift the front.
