Maybach is presenting its facelifted high-end luxury saloons at Auto China 2010, in Beijing. The new versions have suffered design changes and have been handed new extended high-class equipment and individualisation options.
A new chrome radiator grille, a new bonnet with a shaped edge, the trim on the front bumper and exclusively developed paint and stylish wheels are some of the new featres of the 57, 57 S, 62 and 62 S.
For the facelifted versions of the Maybach saloons the new chrome radiator grille was produced in two different variants. In the Maybach 57 and 62 models it has 20 fine longitudinal bars, and in the Maybach 57 S and 62 S it features twelve solid double louvres and a “shadow strut”.
The bonnet has been elevated and modified by the designers, giving it more defined contours and arrow-shape. The exterior mirrors have seen their aerodynamics optimized for less driving noise. Nevertheless they offer a larger surface which means improved vision.
The engine equipping both the Maybach 57 S and 62 S has seen its output grow by 13 kW (18 hp) to 463 kW (630 hp). Neverthless, they were able to reduce the fuel consumption from 16.4 to 15.8 l/100 km and the CO2 emissions from 390 to 368 g/km CO2. As for the 57 and 62 models the output of the 12-cylinder engine has remained unchanged but fuel consumption was reduced from 15.0 to 15.9 l/100 km together with CO2 emissions (350 as opposed to 383 g/km).
