Fiat 500 Wins First B-Spec Races in the US

Johnathan Start won the first two B-Spec races in a Fiat 500

Starting this year, the Pirelli World Challenge racing series in the US has a new class of cars called Touring Cars B-Spec that is meant as an entry-level racing series for inexpensive hatchbacks. The series held its first three races this weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. 

Johnathan Start won the first B-Spec race on April 28 in a Fiat 500500 (modern)Fiat 500 (modern)Italy, 2007 > present240 versions

The cars compete at the same time as the World Challenge Touring Car class in 30 minute races.

tuned to Sports Car Club of America Showroom Stock C rules. The cars must retain their original design, structure and drive layout. The interiors may be removed. The cars may run OEM or aftermarket non-adjustable shock absorbers but are free to tune in up to 2.5° of negative camber and the minimum ride height is 5in. The engines and transmissions are stock. Each car runs stock rear brakes and has individual rules for the size of the front brakes. 

The B-Spec series will have their next three races at Mosport International Raceway on June 22, and their final three races for the season will be at the Infineon Raceway on August 24.
