ever, it is still good for charity.
In the past, Mustangs at auction have brought in over a million dollars, and the top ten Mustang auctions have a total price of $7.6 million. Of that, Ford has donated over $1.7 million to charity.
The winning bidder was able to choose between a manual or automatic transmission and select the interior, exterior and stripe color. It comes with the 5.0-liter V8 that Ford says will have more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque.
The 2015 will be offered as either a fastback or convertible with a choice of V6, V8 or 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. It will be on sale in fall 2014.
The tenth most expensive Mustang ever still auctioned for nearly double what the first 2015 Mustang did. The one-off car was built in 1965 and added a supercharger to the 4.7-liter V8 to make 306hp. It sold for $528,000 in March 2007.
This Mustang was completely original and had only 902 miles on it. It still had the factory plastic wrap on the seats. It sold for $550,000 in August 2013.
The first 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR sold for $550,000 at auction in January 2008.

It was one of the first 50 Boss 429 cars built that came with an engine originally built to be raced in NASCAR. It sold for $605,000 in January 2007.
The car was the first production new Shelby GT500 made. It sold for $648,000 in 2006.
The car was owned and driven by Carroll Shelby. The red 1969 GT500 convertible was one of only two Shelby cars that he kept during the 60s. It sold for $742,500 In January 2008.
The car was one of 34 Shelby 350R racing models that Shelby built in 1965. This was one of the most original in existence with just 4,900 miles of competition when it sold for $990,000 in August 2012.
The car was the star of the 2000 film "Gone in 60 Seconds," and this example was the one that appeared in film's advertising. It sold for $1.07 million in May 2013.
Shelby is responsible for several of the highest priced Mustangs ever, but the Super Snake is the top example. Only one was made, and it combined the GT500 body with the V8 from a Ford GT40. The price at the time was so high that Shelby could not sell the only one built. It sold for $1.3 million in May 2013.
