in Europe, has just been certified as the car with the highest fuel economy the US Environmental Protection Agency has ever rated with a rating of 118MPG equivalent. It also uses just 29 kilowatt hours for every 100 miles. The EPA predicts buyers will spend just $500 a year on fuel.

The Fit EV has a 20kWh electric battery has a total range of 82 miles on a charge. It is rated at 132mpge in the city, 105mpge on the highway and 118mpge combined. The Fit EV has a 92kW electric motor (123hp) and 189lb-ft of torque. It can be recharged in about 3 hours from a 240v outlet.

It has better economy than the Focus Electric with a 105mpge and a 76 mile range, Nissan Leaf with 99mpge and a 73 mile range, Mitsubishi i-MiEV with 112mpge and a 62 mile range.

Honda is the only automaker in the US that produces pure electric, hydrogen, natural gas and hybrid-powered vehicles.
