in the US. Not only are they getting a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but they all have their own styling enhancements.

The new 2.0-liter engine has 173hp and 154lb-ft of torque, an upgrade of 25hp and 23lb-ft of torque over the previous 1.8-liter four-cylinder that the 2.0-liter will replace. It will be available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, and with the manual it is rated at 24mpg city and 34mpg highway. The engine shares the same block as the previous 1.8 but with a longer stroke to increase displacement.  The upgrade gives the Elantra the best power-to-weight distribution in its class.

All of the upgraded Elantras get LED taillights and a new integrated driver’s blind spot mirror

gets a retuned suspension and upgraded interior in addition to the new engine. The suspension has a larger 22mm front stabilizer bar and modified rear spring rates and stiffer dampers. The steering gets a selectable three-mode system with Comfort, Normal and Sport modes.

Inside, the Elantra GT gets a new 7in touchscreen infotainment system with rearview camera. It gets new options like dual-zone climate control and a panoramic sunroof.

gets the same suspension and steering upgrades as the GT, and it also gets a new rear spoiler, 17in alloy wheels, a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a blackout grille with chrome surround. All of these features were optional last year. The coupe will be offered in only one trim next year, and the only options will be the transmission choice and whether or not to add the Technology Package, which adds Projector headlights with LED accents, LED taillights and a navigation system.

There are a few changes for the Elantra Coupe inside as well. It gets relocated air vents with separate fan and temperature controls, cooled glove box and redesigned gearshift.

All of the new versions will be on sale in December.
