Jaguar is preparing to take an important step regarding its expansion strategy with the launch of the
F-Pace, the company's first SUV in 80 years of history. The high-performance crossover was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show and full specs were also revealed.
The new model bears a strong resemblance in terms of silhouette with the prototype that led to the development of the new F-Pace. The model has a dynamic and sporty look that promises to please the great lovers of driving.
Over the past months we have seen camouflaged prototypes to be submitted to the tests imposed by the Jaguar have highlighted the capacity utilization in everyday life and exceptional handling and maneuverability of the new F-PACE. Among the tests were participating in the Tour de France as team support vehicle Team Sky and over 400,000 kilometers of hard evidence in JLR testing centers in Dubai and Northern Sweden and pass by some of the roads difficult world.
F-Pace's range available at launch will include a petrol engine and two diesel, with rear and all wheel drive options. The diesel standard version will be the 180hp diesel equipped with the same 2.0 four-cylinder engine included in the XE and XF ranges. With a manual six-speed gearbox and rear wheel drive this will be the most efficient version of the model with an average consumption of 4.9l/100km and CO2 emissions of 128g/km. It can reach 100km/h in 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 209km/h. With all-wheel drive, this engine is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The diesel and V6 petrol complete the range of the F-Pace, both receiving standard all-wheel drive and an automatic eight-speed. The diesel version of 300hp reaches 100km/h in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 241km/h, while the 240hp petrol version reaches 100km/h in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 225km/h.
In the year that Jaguar celebrates 80 years of existence the F-Pace joins a renewed range that includes the
new XE, the
updated XJ, the just launched
XF and the extremely successful
F-Type.
The arrival on the market of the new Jaguar F-PACE is scheduled for 2016.
