Jaguar Land Rover Invests to Build 4-Cylinder Engines in UK

Will add 1,400 new jobs to build new engines

is investing £500 million (€575 million) into its Engine Manufacturing Centre in the UK to employ 1,400 new employees and build its new four-cylinder engines. It is also investing a further £2.75 billion (€3.2 billion) to create eight new or refreshed cars this year. 

Jaguar Land Rover will share new four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines that will be built in the UK. It will nearly double the number of workers that will work at the new engine site when it opens in 2014. The engines are still under development and production will begin in 2015.

"Since 2008, we have invested in our business and will continue to do so in order to support our strategy for measured, sustainable growth over the next five years," said company CEO Dr. Ralf Speth.
