several significant upgrades for 2013 including a new turbocharged four-cylinder and supercharged V6.

The new petrol 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder and 3.0 liter supercharged V6 broaden Jaguar's engine range significantly.

The turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 240ps and 340Nm of torque while using 8.9l/100km of petrol and producing 207g/km of CO2 in the XF. In the XJ, power levels are the same but it uses 9.3l/100km and produces 216g/km of CO2.

The supercharged V6 produces 340ps and 450Nm of torque. Fuel economy and emissions are the same for both the XF and XJ at 9.4l/100km and 224g/km of CO2.

The previous engine lineup of the 5.0 liter petrol V8 in supercharged and naturally aspirated forms, 2.2 liter diesel and 3.0 liter diesel will all be carried over unchanged into the 2013 model year. The only difference is that all V6 and V8 engines get stop/start and the eight-speed automatic.

Other upgrades to the XF and XJ include the availability of the Meridian auto system that had only been available on the XJ Ultimate previously. Now, it will be an option on all cars. The system has two options with either 380w or 825w of power. The top system in the XJ comes with 20 speakers, and even the top version in the XF has 15 speakers.

Both cars also get upgrades to the infotainment systems. They will accept more video file types; navigation now has an ECO Route function, and buyers can store areas through which they do not want the navigation to take them.

The final 2013 upgrade applies only to the XJ. Jaguar retuned the rear suspension to make the car more quiet and comfortable.
