with an upgraded engine and new standard features. The biggest change to the XF is the upgraded 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel with 161hp and 295lb-ft of torque with start/stop.

The new engine will emit 129g/km of CO2 and get 57.7mpg UK fuel economy (48mpg US or 4.9l/100km) thanks to exhaust gas recirculation and start/stop. Emissions are 6g/km of CO2 lower than the previous version and fuel economy is 3mpg UK better. The only available transmission will be an eight-speed automatic.

Performance figures are the same for the upgraded diesel as the previous version. Acceleration to 60mph takes 9.8 seconds, and it has a top speed of 130mph (209km/h).

The start/stop system requires a second battery to restart the engine and keep the instruments and HVAC systems functional while the engine is off.

The new diesel will be available on both the XF sedan and Sportbrake.

“The 2014 XF with this revised engine calibration opens up the unique Jaguar ownership experience to a whole new segment. Cost-conscious drivers, business users and fleet managers will be able to enjoy the refinement, luxury and seductive design of a Jaguar while benefiting from its low emissions and high fuel efficiency," said Jeremy Hicks, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover UK.

Other upgrades for the XF include standard navigation and new Osmium and Dark Sapphire interior colors. The navigation system gets improved mapping, road visualization and better address searching.
